How much does Rhinoplasty cost in Singapore?
The cost of doing rhinoplasty can vary according to 2 major factors:
- The number of procedures
- Where to get your nose surgery done (Singapore or overseas)
Before we talk about the different nose surgery procedures, let’s get a better understanding of the nose. The nose can be classified into 3 distinct parts. The first part is the bridge. The second is the tip. And there are the nostrils. In order to look good, all 3 parts have to complement each other and also mesh well onto the overall appearance of the face. Not an easy feat it seems, and that’s why a nose job in Singapore isn’t cheap.
Nose Implants or Nose Fillers:
A nice bridge is generally seen as high and straight. Nose bridges are also the easiest to fix but also the LEAST effective at helping to create a beautiful nose. A high and straight bridge can be achieved with either aesthetic fillers or by inserting an implant. You’d understand later why it’s the easiest to do but least effective.
The above is a photo I found off Google. Hint: it’s not done in Singapore. (I likely wouldn’t trust my nose job to a clinic that can’t even spell “cosmetic”)
Many people make the mistake of thinking a nose implant will immediately give them a nice nose. This is the most foolish and stupid decision ever! Imagine have a high and straight bridge with your tip and nostrils rounded and upturned. You’d look like an alien!
Nose Tip Surgery:
The nose tip is the toughest part to fix of all. As mentioned in my earlier post, the perfect nose tip is slightly upturned for women but 90 degrees for men. This is because a slightly upturned tip is seen as more feminine. As Singaporeans, we are often born with rounded tips. Nose tip surgery can help us get a sharper tip like an ang mo’s nose. The surgeon will usually do this by scrapping hard cartilage off your ear or other parts of your body and use it to shape and define the nose tip.
During the process, it is also possible for the doctor to remove excess skin and fat that is causing your nose to look fat or like a bubble. The complexities of nose tip surgery are far greater than that of a simple nose implant or nose fillers. As such, it is strongly recommended that you seek out a VERY experienced surgeon to help create the perfect tip.
Nose surgery to reduce width:
Apart from being born with bulbous noses, Southeast Asians and Singaporeans are also very prone to have a natural nose that is quite wide at the bottom. This can often make your nose look flat and wide rather than straight and sharp. The easy way to correct this is through a nose surgery to reduce the width. This process is often done together with nose tip surgery and the extra fats or skin will also be removed to give you a sexier looking nose.
It is entirely possible to have a great looking nose through just tip and width correction, without lifting the nose bridge.
The final cost of rhinoplasty in Singapore:
Summing up the above, the cost of your nose surgery in Singapore greatly depends on if you do 1, 2 or all 3 steps. A nose bridge implant generally cost around $3,500. Nose tip and nostrils reduction can be around $3,000. All in all, you’d expect to pay around $8,000 to $10,000 for a perfect nose job in Singapore. For rhinoplasty in Singapore, Dr Samuel Ho from Allure Plastic Surgery is a very good surgeon if you need a recommendation. It also helps that he is conveniently located at Wisma Atria.
A word of caution: do NOT ever consider getting a nose implant without doing tip and width correction! You’d look WORSE than before and regret the decision for life!
Nose surgery overseas:
After knowing the complexities of rhinoplasty, it really is down to you to make your own decision. But it is honestly a bad idea to do tip and width surgery in cheaper countries such as Thailand or even Korea (unless you KNOW for sure who the best surgeons are). If you’re just looking for a simple nose bridge implant, it might be worth taking a risk in Thailand, which can cost as little as $1,000 to $1,500.
